Visitors book – Weddings

“Thank you for providing such a wonderful venue for our special day.  Everyone commented on how unique and beautiful it was and we completely agree.  We had everything we needed and you were both very accommodating to any requests we had. The grounds looked magnificent and made for an ideal backdrop for our photographs.  We even had six white doves fly from the dovecote as the ceremony finished – it was almost as if they knew!”

“Many thanks for sharing your wonderful, atmospheric house with its superb views. From the moment the house appeared from halfway along the long, winding driveway, it captivated us (and later, all our guests). We knew it was the amazing venue we’d been looking for. Throughout the weekend, our guests didn’t stop complimenting the house and the beautiful gardens. There are so many interesting rooms that even had the Welsh weather not played ball with us, there was plenty of indoor space for our 90 guests to spread into. As it was, in between all of the eating, drinking, dancing and celebrating in the banqueting hall, we were all able to enjoy outside. Being a “Frelsh” wedding, there was a good combination of French wedding games and an old fashioned game of rugby outdoors! A few of our guests even thought we’d specially ordered the twin doves that appeared above the archway during the afternoon! Treowen is truly special, if you are considering a “DIY” wedding in this area, we recommend you look no further! Thank you John  & Dick, your relaxed approach and obliging nature in the run up to our big day was much appreciated.”

“We had a wonderful weekend with lots of friends and family gathered to celebrate our marriage. Despite a forecast of thundery showers, it was dry all day and everyone enjoyed drinks, food, dancing and general merry making in this wonderful house.”

“Treowen is a magical house in an idyllic setting, the weather was perfect and all hundred kith and kin had a really good time; even the resident swallows and doves joined in. A special day in a special house in a special setting.”

“The venue was a huge part of our ceremony. It blew our guests away. We came here because Gavin attended a wedding here 10 years ago and it stayed in the memory so strongly. We think that at least two sets of our guests are going to try and book it in the future! We can’t wait to come back. Thanks to John and the Wheelock family.

“Thank you so much for handing over the keys to such an amazing house for our Halloween wedding.  We had skulls, pumpkins, a medieval hog roast and heavy metal!! We all rocked out and drank mulled cider and just enjoyed being in such an amazing setting! We could not have asked for more! Friends and family came together and all had a massive knees up! Thank you!!”

“Wow what an amazing week we have had at Treowen house. It has been the perfect setting for our wedding and and an amazing setting to enjoy time with families and friends. Everything has gone so well; a truly special and memorable marriage ceremony in the long drawing room, a wonderful afternoon tea and then fish and chips in the courtyard at night-perfect! All of our guests enjoyed our wedding and commented on how wonderful the house is and a great venue. We have loved enjoying the house after the wedding with lots of walks, food and log fires! All of my dreams have come true here and what a wonderful place to start my happily ever after…”

“For our wedding ceremony and celebration Treowen was the most wonderful setting. Such a beautiful house in an amazing location. With so many nationalities coming to join us on our day, we truly found a home from home. We already plan our return on our 10th, 20th, 30th …anniversary!”

Meike and Yura, 7 September 2013

“Well, where can I start? I wanted the perfect place for my wedding reception and I found Treowen just in time. Not only is the house magnificent and the grounds superb, but the Wheelock family make this place a true treasure to behold. As an archaeologist, I love all things ancient and this house certainly has many places to explore and has some great stories. The fact that John and Dick are willing to open Treowen to the party loving public is a true reflection of their dedication to the house which has been a real home over the years and also their generosity. Dick and John, you are a credit to history. Thank you for keeping a bit of it alive and making it so accessible.”

“Magical doesn’t even begin to cover how we feel about this place. We have been extraordinarily blessed with the setting (and the weather!). What a way to start married life basking in glorious sunshine enjoying the most perfect picnic from champers on the lawn to listening to Cole Porter on the wind up gramophones…It’s gone by too fast and we will definitely be back for an anniversary or two or three”

“I’m actually a little bit lost as to what to write as I don’t think this book is big enough to sum up what an amazing time all 120 of us have had here. Wedding on the Friday, followed by a wonderful afternoon tea, the fish and chips, ice cream cart and disco and casino in the evening followed by a hog roast round the fires on the Saturday. Phew!! Amazing, amazing, amaxing.  We have promised ourselves that we will be back for our 10th wedding anniversary! Everyone loved the house and said they would be back. Thank you for letting us use the house for the most special day/days of our lives. We will never forget them.
